Donna Edwards

“My politics centers on community building. I believe in Social Security and Medicare and the baseline safety net that was established generations before I came along.”

Trained as a systems engineer and lawyer, Congresswoman Donna F. Edwards, a Democrat and the first African American woman to represent Maryland in the US Congress, now serves on the Science, Space and Technology Committee. As a public advocate, she has fought domestic violence and is focused on campaign finance reform and improving education.
